Download IOnYoo Version 1.3

To install IOnYoo, there are three simple steps:

  1. download the program;
  2. follow the installation instructions;
  3. follow the licensing instructions.

Then you will be able to run the program and use the help to explore its facilities.

You may wish to read or print all the instructions before starting the download, the installation and the licensing.

Although by no means obligatory, please contact us if you any questions or feedback on what you have seen on this site by clicking here.

1. Download the program

Download only one of the links below.  We offer a choice of formats to cater for systems that might block the download of programs directly.  We advise you to use the EXE format in your chosen language as this usually the most convenient format.  If you experience a problem when clicking on your desired .EXE link, most web browsers will allow you to right click on the link and either "Save target as..." or "Save link as...".  If you still have problems then download the ZIP version instead.

You will be asked whether you want to save or run the file. If you will be installing IOnYoo on several computers it is probably best to save it.  Ideally, you should save it in a folder that is accessible from all the computers on your network.

Language Desired format
English .EXE (size 3.5MB) .ZIP (size 3.4MB)
American .EXE (size 2.9MB) .ZIP (size 2.9MB)

2. Installation Instructions

(For fuller installation instructions including screen shots, click here)

If you successfully downloaded a .EXE file and opened it, the installation program should have started, in which case please read the remainder of this section.  If you downloaded a .ZIP format then you will need to locate the .ZIP file and open it using your usual ZIP file opener (Windows XP usually includes one as standard).  The ZIP file contains the installation program itself; open the ZIP file and run / open the contained installation program.

Remember that to install IOnYoo you must have administrator privileges (however, this does not apply under Windows 98).  If you are not sure whether you have adminstrator privileges, go to Control Panel and run User Accounts.  The account you are logged in as should be marked "Computer Administrator" or "Administrator".

The .NET Framework 2.0
You may find that the installation program asks to install the Microsoft .NET Framework, version 2.0.  This is necessary for the operation of IOnYoo and for many people is already installed on their systems.  If it is not already installed, the installation program should download and install it automatically, however this can take some time, and may require a reboot when it is finished.  Please be patient.

Very occasionally the installation program may be unable to download and install .NET for you.  If this happens, it may be obtained using "Windows Update", "Microsoft Update" or by visiting the the Microsoft website, here.  Depending on your language and system type, you will probably want to download and install the ".NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable package", the x86 version.  After installing .NET, you can continue with the IOnYoo installation by running the installation program again.

IOnYoo consists of two separate programs, the Manager and the Agent.  The Agent should be installed on every computer on the network that is to be monitored, including, if required, the computer on which the Manager is installed.  The Manager need only be installed on one computer, although you can install it on others if you wish (only one computer at a time can perform the function of manager, but if you install the Manager on more than one computer you can change which one is acting as manager at any time).

To install  IOnYoo on each computer on the network, log in as a user with administrator privileges* and run the program that you have just downloaded, which will be called IOnYooSetup.  If you saved the installation program to a folder that is accessible over the network you can run it directly from each computer, otherwise copy the program you have downloaded to each computer, as required.  During the installation process you will be asked if you wish to install the Agent, the Manager or both.

(* Note that it is strongly advised not to give administrator privileges to the those users who normally use the computers to be monitored. However, if this is unavoidable, you should consider using the "Reduced administrator rights on configuration files" option which can be found on the Options tab of the Manager).

Once IOnYoo has been succesfully installed, you can run the Manager to license IOnYoo.  The help contains full instructions on how to configure and use IOnYoo after you have licensed it.

3. Licensing Instructions

After you have downloaded the software and installed it on your machine, you will need to acquire a licence in order to make IOnYoo work.  When you start the Manager program after having just installed it  (the Manager should be found on the Start Menu under Programs) you will be advised that the program is not currently licensed.

A Trial licence - which will work for 32 days and allow you to load IOnYoo on 2 computers on your network (if you have one) and to control up to 20 different program entries - may be automatically acquired from the Internet from within the program.  If you do not wish to acquire a licence automatically, then you may have a trial licence e-mailed to you.  To do this, come back to this website, register yourself, login, request the trial licence, which will be sent by e-mail and you simply have to cut and paste the text of the licence into the program to activate it.

When the Trial period expires, then you will need to purchase a full licence to continue using the program - you can buy a full licence here
